Meet Matt Randall
, DVM A second- generation veterinarian, Matt Randall is a 2002 graduate of Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo.
After graduation, he interned at Elgin Veterinary Hospital in Elgin, Texas, before taking an associates position at Peninsula Equine, a progressive ambulatory and referral practice in the San Francisco Bay Area of California.

Randall’s practice philosophy is a blend of progressiveness and cowboy logic. He enjoys using acupuncture as an adjunct to traditional medicine.

A charter member of the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology (ISELP), Randall has studied the latest diagnostic techniques as well as the most recent advances in sports medicine. He has vast experience in the use of ultrasound for the diagnosis of musculoskeletal problems as well as some of the newer therapies such as Tildren and PRP. Randall also has advanced knowledge of equine dentistry.

A former American Quarter Horse Youth Association President, Randall is a life member of the AQHA and has served on both the youth activities and research committees. Heís also a life member of the National Reining Horse Association and is a two-time NRHA Non Pro Derby finalist. Randall also belongs to the American Endurance Ride Conference and serves as a ride veterinarian. He has served as an on-site veterinarian at the Grand National Rodeo in San Francisco, Elite Barrel Racing Productions and the Western States Endurance Ride, better known as the Tevis Cup.

In his spare time, Randall enjoys spending time with his wife, Tanya, an award-winning equine journalist, roper and barrel racer, and 2-year-old son Colton, an accomplished cat and dog wrestler. Although a talented daughter of Paddys Irish Whiskey has him contemplating a return to the show ring, Randall finds relaxed atmosphere of the team roping arena more appealing these days.
